Avonlea Rest Home - Dementia Care NZ
Music is a large part of our daily life, providing a soundtrack to our days. Residents unwind to tranquil tunes, sing along to familiar songs, or dance to the melodies. Dementia Care New Zealand is one of New Zealand’s highly regarded aged care providers. I am especially grateful to Robin and the staff for setting a standard within the Manor that puts the residents first, and keeps their families at ease by providing open communication. Thank you Robin for always coming up with excellent options to ensure Dad’s stay is enjoyable, comfortable and that he is content. Even after Dad’s ankle healed, he was and still is, extremely torn with the idea of leaving what he has at the Coteau Range Manor to return back home.
The program of activities available for residents always impressed us. The staff in her home ''Rudo'' were always interacting with the residents in a caring, kind manner. Mum loves her sunny bedroom with en suite and says she enjoys the meals; I have complete peace of mind that she is safe and well cared for. We have also just opened a beautiful, brand new purpose built dementia care rest home at Avonlea. We connect families with great caregivers and caring companies to help you be there for the ones you love.

Each afternoon an activity person provides some sort of activity for all the occupants that can catch their interest and challenge them in some way. The concept of small homes ideally suited Jessie, giving her the independence of her own room in a warm, comfortable, modern environment. Mum moved into Avonlea in March 2010, the staff and management of Avonlea made the transition from mums previous retirement home to her new home at Avonlea a very stress free experience for us. I cannot express how impressed I am with the effort the personnel put forth into genuinely caring and listening to my Dad’s needs.
Avonlea was founded on Keith's desire to find a safe and nurturing place for his mom, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Many of our caregivers have personal experience in caring for loved ones with Alzheimer's or various other needs. The lessons learned are reflected in Avonlea's care and philosophy. During Jessie's last days when her health was failing, the care provided by your staff was exceptional.

My Mum’s needs changed last year and we found ourselves in the very daunting situation of looking for a new rest home that was tailored to meet mums' needs. The staff and management of Avonlea made the transition from mums' previous retirement home to her new home at Avonlea a very stress free experience for us. They were very supportive during this time not only for mum but also for me. We write to thank you both, and your staff, for your kind and professional care of Robin at Avonlea. Due to Robin being younger, family members and friends were mostly in full-time employment.

A special residential program for individuals with Alzheimer's and memory loss is located in our secured buildings that were designed with the needs of these seniors in mind. Each day begins with familiar routines and our experienced staff offers gentle encouragement, memory enhancement activities and assistance while supporting each person in areas of particular need. In this supportive safe environment you can feel confident that your loved one is being nurtured and cared for the way you would expect. Our assisted living communities are for seniors who need the security of a little extra help with day-to-day tasks such as bathing, personal hygiene and medication assistance. Support and care is provided as indicated by professionally prepared individual care and wellness plans.
Plans were to attend a number of trade shows in surrounding rural areas this spring but due to COVID-19 this is not possible. We have also submitted an application to initiate an Adult Day Program and are awaiting approval from the Ministry of Health. Each time I talk with him, he has nothing but praises and gratitude for the continuous care Coteau provides him. Our guests will receive all the same benefits as our full time residents. This meant that we were often visiting at odd times of the day to fit in round work schedules. No matter what time of the day we visited, and what the routine was for that time slot, the staff were consistently respectful, patient, and fully present with the needs of residents. We met quite a few of your lovely staff who looked after my uncle with such wonderful care and respect. Mum, Dad and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. From the moment we arrived at your facility, your staff were amazing.
